I couldn’t get the official kodi remote app (iOS) to work since update Kodi 17 since i normally let Zeroconfig to do it for me
I had to use a different port than 8080 because i tired the port range 8080-8080 and it didn’t work so i tired changing the port on kodi to 3721 since thats the default port allowed on Android devices
So if your tryimg to connect to Android kodi version try port 3721
So setup info in “add host” needs to be updated and to include this infor about Android version
