How long can I keep 16.1?

I just installed Kodi 17.1.

Right away, I do not like it. I do not play online content here like Netflix or Hulu because the fastest internet available is only 768 kbps download. Instead, I have thousands of movie files on a NAS drive or watch live TV using my HDHomeRun device.

I do not like the whole interface change. My family is not PC literate, so making all of this change dumps the problems on me.

Also, now the Windows status bar does not seem to ever go away. It just hangs around down there whether we are playing a show or if the Kodi interface has gone to Dim.

I’m going to uninstall it and go back to 16.1.

Is anything in 16.1 going to stop working like Microsoft did with Media Player?
