Issue with jagged pixelated blacks

Hi,

I hope this is in the correct section. Appologies if not.

I have recently procured 3 MXQ PRO 4K android boxes to replace my htpc’s, which both reduce maintenance costs, power costs and real estate in the home.

I have a total of 4 tvs, main bedroom has the htpc where all files stream from.

The issue is as follows, the tv room has a 65″ Blaupunkt UHD tv, when I use a normal htpc everything is perfect, when using the kodi/android box all blacks are jagged & pixelated (sometimes even just light shadows do this, on a person in the videos shirt for example), moving the same box to a different TV everything is fine.
I then tested with downloading MX Player, played same video and everything was fine, moved back to Kodi and everything is fine in kodi? Restart box again to replicate issue and same problem, until I launch a movie in MX player, then everything in kodi is fine again.

Even the launch screen of kodi 17.1 is extremely dark. Now the problem seems to be the tv + kodi combination, however I do not understand why kodi rectifies the issue when mxplayer first plays a video, it seems that mxplayer is making correct adjustments in the OS.

So, in conclusion. The TV itself is fine.
The hardware/box is fine, since it works perfectly fine on all other TV’s
Kodi only works fine on the TV when, I run mxplayer first and run a video (even only for a second).

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated, however at this time this does seem to be a bug or compatibility issue with the TV.
