HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR FREE MOVIE / TV SHOWS / IPTV STREAMS?

If you’re using Kodi to watch recent movies, tv shows, or live TV for free, then please look elsewhere for support.

While you are free to do what you want with Kodi since it’s open source software, there is NO SUPPORT provided on these forums for accessing streams containing PIRATED content or how to fix problems with them.

DID YOU BUY A KODI BOX PROMISING FREE MOVIES & TV? SOMETIMES CALLED A “FULLY LOADED” BOX.
DO YOU USE ADD-ONS TO WATCH RECENT MOVIES, TV SHOWS OR IPTV FROM PREMIUM CHANNELS?

There is no such thing as a Kodi box since we have NO PART in the supply of any media box, nor do we provide content, all the Kodi Team does is development cool open source software for playing media you own or other legal sources.

THESE FULLY LOADED BOXES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH US.

All these “FULLY LOADED KODI” boxes supply movies and tv via Kodi extensions called Add-ons.

Add-ons that include recent movies and tv shows are supplying PIRATED content. The use of streams containing pirated content may be deemed ILLEGAL in many countries, and could make you LIABLE to PROSECUTION for COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.

HOW DO I KNOW IF IT’S PIRATED CONTENT?

Use your common sense.

If a box or Add-on is offering content for free that you would normally have to pay for by either:

  • buying dvd/blu-ray
  • downloading via web store eg. itunes or Amazon Prime
  • subscribing to a satellite or cable service
  • downloading via web store eg. itunes or Amazon

then it’s almost certainly content being supplied without the consent of the copyright holder, in other words it’s PIRATED.

Another good indication of whether a service is legal is whether a website exists for that service, after if all this content could be legally distributed then wouldn’t they want to profit from advertising in the same way Youtube and other free & legal services do.

THERE IS NO MAGICAL WAY OF LEGALLY BYPASSING PAYMENT OF CONTENT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE ABOVE

While you are of course free to do what you choose, we however reserve the right to NOT SUPPORT you in doing this. These are our forums and you agree to abide by our rules when you sign up.

Discussion of all such Add-ons which access pirated content is BANNED on this forum. A list of some of the banned Add-ons and the repositories that supply these Add-ons can be found at

Note that this is not an exhaustive list and anything we deem as facilitating piracy maybe liable for deletion from the forum.

WHAT IS KODI FOR IF NOT FOR VIEWING FREE MOVIE / TV SHOWS / IPTV STREAMS?

Kodi is a open source media center software application that was primarily designed for playing media content stored within the home. This content can be stored on the disk of the device, a connected usb stick/drive, or via a home network from a NAS or server. This content will have come from dvd’s/blu-rays/cd’s/downloads that have been purchased legally.

Kodi can only be legally used to watch Live TV via the PVR Add-ons or Add-ons that access devices that can legally stream within your home network such as the HDHomeRun devices.

You can read more about Kodi at https://kodi.tv/about/

WHAT ARE ADD-ONS?

Kodi includes the ability to load media content from the web much like a web browser does, and also like a web browser Kodi is extendable via community developed Add-ons, these are like mini-programs in their own right. The purpose of Add-ons is to extend the core functionality of Kodi and to allow access to sources of legal content from the web, this content will be from well know website such as Youtube.

When used in combination with these community or 3rd party Add-ons, Kodi simply acts as the playback engine. This is exactly the same as using an application such as VLC to load and playback web based media streams.
