I may have solved this, but wanted to document it for others. My daughter had me install Kodi Krypton from the play store onto her Tab A running Android 6. Noticed terrible sync and playback issues with HD live TV and recordings using a mythtv back end. All my TV comes from an Hdhomerun Connect box which happens to feed MPEG2 video streams. With over 3000 recordings, transcoding everything is out of the question, plus that isn’t going to fix live TV playback.
After some fiddling, I found that disabling deinterlace seems to fix everything. 1080p streams look and sync great now without it.
Is this known issue?
