How to “find” and open an .STRM file in Kodi

I feel stupid asking this as everywhere (google) I just see that it’s as simple as going to Videos -> Files and browse to .strm file. There is NO BROWSE for pete sakes!

I’m using Kodi 16.1 on Windows. Videos -> Files brings me with these options:

Files
Playlists
Video addons

If I go to Files my only option is to Add videos. Clicking this gives me “Add Video Source” and I can click “browse” which presents me with “Browse for new share” and if I go to the folder where my .strm file well it doesn’t show me the file! I don’t have hidden files or extensions enabled and I see it just fine in Windows Explorer.

The goal is to play some live online tv channels. I don’t know why this is so hard. Is this some hidden or missing feature in Kodi 16.1 or somethingConfused
