Error:Exception caught on main loop, exiting

I have loaded both the v16 and then v17 Beta to open screen level but then it fails to run and quits with a message display. My machine is a Dell Latitude D53 running on Home Premium 7 with Radeon x1200, x86 and an upgrade SP1. What should I do?

Ive seen various mentions of NFO files. Most of what I could find in the Kodi wiki was about video NFOs. How do I create an NFO file for music? What is it the benefit of doing so?
