How to update from Jarvis 16.1 to Krypton

I have a Matricom G Box Q2 with Jarvis 16.1 installed. Can I simply download Krypton (Ver 17) from the Google Play store to update Kodi? And if I can will it wipe out the add ons that I already have? thanks for the help.
