Animated Backgrounds

I just installed Aeon Nox Silvo on Kodi 17 and am trying to setup animated backgrounds. I have a gif I’m using for background for weather, however the gif only shows a split second of the animation. So it’s just a skipping mess. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a setting or something this is limiting the time the gif will play causing it to keep skipping?
